Civil Engineer

Under general direction, performs a variety of specific professional engineering tasks of an analysis, design or test nature. Participates on project teams as required and receives guidance and instruction from more experienced engineers and/or supervisor when working in more complex areas. Engineering activities support both domestic and international products/services.

Your Challenge

  • Performs site layout design of aircraft system installations. Performs foundation design for aircraft arresting system installations, below and above grade.

  • Determine loads of aircraft arrestments related to civil infrastructure.

  • Conduct analysis of civil installations against arrestment loading, complete installation designs in compliance with analysis results.

  • Complete and deliver installation packages to be used by civil contracting companies domestically and internationally.

  • Coordinates with project manager and customer.

  • Contributes to the development of sales proposals.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs. Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.

  • May research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Study processes to determine where and how application of equipment can be made.

  • May specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Assist in developing the structural design of products, and provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs. Design test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products.

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

What You Bring

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design including earth and ground conditions, reinforced concrete, excavation, grading, and environmental requirements.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, knowledge of 3D civil modeling preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, international code and standards knowledge is beneficial.

  • Demonstrates accountability, commitment, and excellent work attitude.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate in Civil Engineering preferred
