As the Project Portfolio Manager for the Datacenter and Cloud Platform Group you will oversee and manage a portfolio of projects that deliver Cloud and Edge Platforms to Nestle. Working with the Product and Project Managers your responsibility will be to ensure that projects align with the group’s strategic objectives and are delivered successfully within scope, budget, and timeline. A Day in the Life of a Project Portfolio Manager :

Work with Datacenter and Cloud Product and Project Managers to develop, maintain, and deliver the optimal project portfolio by:

  • Collaborate with senior Product/Project Managers and Relationship Managers to identify product/project portfolio level opportunities

  • Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of the Datacenter and Cloud leadership and Product/Project managers toward the establishment of the Product/Project portfolio definition, its structure and investments, from demand management and strategic alignment; to portfolio categories and criteria; through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved value and adoption

  • Apply external and internal factors and best practices to portfolio formulation and development

  • Make recommendations on the balance of the required investments and capabilities across teams within the product/project portfolio

  • Oversees IT Platforms-wide portfolio prioritization and reprioritization reviews for all related projects

  • Assist the Product Group and Product Managers to track and manage dependencies across multiple projects; leads escalation processes to make issues visible to stakeholders and leadership; drives resolution of dependency issues through the agreed process

  • Lead reviews of any significant product/project portfolio elements on a periodic basis and on demand if challenged and provide visibility on trends and forecasts versus plans recommendations as to whether elements should continue as-is, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued

  • Provide ongoing PPM mentoring and coaching support to assist implementation of the PPM methodology, working closely with project sponsors, product managers, and other relevant team members to increase knowledge and elevate performance through one-on-one coaching

  • Develops, tracks, and reports on agreed PPM metrics

  • Ensure the adherence to the appropriate governance functions relating to the Product/Project Portfolio and in accordance with enterprise guidelines, policies and practices

  • Support Product/Project Managers and pool leads for identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating resources engaged with all or many of the initiatives within the IS/IT Program Product/Project Portfolio

  • Maintain an up-to-date portfolio structure and plans that meet the IS/IT strategy and needs of the organization

  • Coordinate the quarterly and yearly Financial Budget defintion to support the portfolio

What will make you successful :

  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. Industry certifications would be advantageous (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, MoP Practitioner)

  • Proven Experience : 5+ years of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major IT projects and programs and ideally of portfolio management

  • Adaptable Collaborator and Communicator: Highly empathetic and able to vary styles of interaction to match the needs of a variety of business and technical audiences, as well as temperaments and personalities. Experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English

  • Influencer: Demonstrated experience in managing "upward" among senior leadership and in participating into strategic prioritization and complex governance initiatives

  • Experience having worked in a global environment and with virtual teams

  • Data analysis/interpretation experience that shows a strong ability to convert general data and findings into applied, specific information and suggestions that add value to business planning and program evaluation

  • Mature practitioner of program lifecycle disciplines, namely strong knowledge of the integrated systems lifecycle development utilizing different – and sometimes – multiple development models (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.)

  • Familiarity with the use of reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities and analyse portfolio performance.

  • Deep understanding of the product/project portfolio lifecycle

  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units; familiar with industry trends and innovation

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and financial analysis skills, and familiarity with financial reporting tools
