Here, you can make an impact and make a difference. Come join us. Huntsman is seeking a Project Engineer supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Ashtabula, Ohio. This position will report to the Engineering Manager. Job Scope Prepare investment proposals and capital expense requests for assigned projects. Plan, design, and manage procurement and construction for assigned capital investment projects. As the Project Engineer you will: Prepare investment proposals and capital expense requests, including estimates of investment cost and schedule for budgeted and unbudgeted projects. Forecast and report project milestones and spending, managing multiple projects within milestone and spend performance metrics. Manage all engineering, procurement and construction activities so as to control costs and schedules during all phases of the capital investment process. Coordinate or lead PDRI reviews, and other studies/reviews as needed to develop project scopes or execute projects. Adhere to all corporate capital processes, procedures and engineering standards, as well as corporate and site EHS procedures while planning and executing projects Ensure that all corporate and site purchasing procedures are followed in the execution of capital purchases Participate in preparation of annual capital budget, developing cost estimates and project templates for approval Coordinate startup and checkout activities of projects with other work groups, and perform timely project financial closure. Manage activities of I/E and mechanical designers to support capital projects as well as maintenance activities and offset external engineering costs for these activities. Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives. Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives. Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor. Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs Required Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (preferred) with 5+ years of work experience. 3 + years of experience in chemical industry required. Preferred Qualifications: PE licensing a plus.
