Job Title: Chemical Handler

Job Description

Ensure the proper functioning of all items; discard defective items/products following company procedures. Weigh liquid chemicals to ensure the correct amounts are put into drums. Enter shipping information into computer systems such as FedEx/UPS. Operate a sit-down forklift for approximately one hour per day for production tasks and loading/unloading trucks. Create mixes using batch or order tickets. Build and wrap pallets for shipment. Perform general cleaning and facilities maintenance as needed.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a manufacturing environment that is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The role involves working with hazardous chemicals, requiring full personal protective equipment (PPE), which is provided along with reimbursement for steel-toe shoes and 13 uniforms from Cintas. Employees are given a 30-minute period at the end of each shift to change and shower. The environment has a strong sulfur smell, and candidates should be comfortable with this. Work hours are primarily from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional mandatory Saturdays. Openness to a second shift schedule (2 PM to 10:30 PM) is also required.
