Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the retail industry, located in Ashland, Virginia. In this position, you will be tasked with maintaining and updating financial records, analyzing budgets, and handling tax procedures. You will also liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and keep up-to-date accounting records and files.

• Work on budget analysis and generate expense reports.

• Handle tax procedures, including payments and returns.

• Schedule and attend meetings with clients to discuss confidential accounting matters.

• Record transactions and classify records in the general ledger, for instance, by assets, liabilities, and expenses.

• Carry out bank reconciliations.

• Engage in discussions with both internal and external stakeholders about transactions.

• Execute month-end and year-end closures diligently.

• Compile the necessary documents for audits.

• Provide advice to clients on financial matters through email or phone.

• Stay updated with new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proven expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with managing General Ledger

• Experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries

• Capability to effectively handle Month End Close tasks

• Proficiency in using NetSuite for various accounting operations

• Experience with Oracle for managing financial databases

• Knowledge of QuickBooks for accounting and payroll tasks

• Familiarity with SAP for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial data management
