Our client in Ashland, VA is seeking a Boiler Operator for their team. This is a Direct Hire opportunity. Salary and benefits:

• Salary range for Boiler Operator (Powerhouse Operator): $33.75 to $35.72 / hour

• Schedule: must be available for rotating shifts & overtime as needed (will work consecutive AM shifts and then after off days work consecutive PM shifts)

Develop your talents by ing your expertise within the facility:

• Follow all safety rules and standard operational procedures

• Monitor and inspect equipment, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely

• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation

• Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of the powerhouse

• Attend and participate in daily crew meetings

Responsibilities

• Boiler license is ideal for position, or 3-5 years of related boiler experience - client is willing to offer the training & certification to the ideal candidate

• Manufacturing experience and powerhouse experience and consistent work history preferred

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3-5 years related experience required

• Will be subject to a background check and medical exam for hire

• Must show a commitment to an interdependent safety-first attitude

• Consistently display positive behavior that supports the organization's goals and objectives

• Must be mechanically inclined and understand mechanical principles

• This job entails bending, walking, lifting, and climbing throughout the shift

• Ability to work independently and in a team empowerment culture

• Highly flexible with the ability to adjust to the demands of the job, produce high quality work, and can be depended on to complete assigned tasks. Must be a self-starter

• Ability to communicate well with others and able to participate in team meetings

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 12 hours at one time
