Robert Half Plant Controller in Asheville, North Carolina

Description

We have partnered with a manufacturing company in Asheville, NC to source their next Controller. This position is responsible for one direct report, and reports into the President locally. Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Prepare accurate and timely forecasts and business plans with input from management

• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues, and report findings to President

• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions

• Ensure timely and accurate Sales Tax and Property Tax compliance reporting

• Support payroll functions as required

• Provide data analysis for other departments on a range of financial topics

• Act as first point of contact for staff on day-to-day accounting topics to ensure proper accounting treatment under US GAAP

• Maintain strong internal controls

• Identify and resolve issues pertaining to accounting procedures and established practices

• Oversee external and internal financial audit process and provide all necessary worksheets/data

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

• Assist with development and support for short and long-term operational strategies

• Mentor others in the finance department on accounting related topics/processes

Requirements

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to conduct Auditing tasks

• Knowledge of SAP software

• Familiarity with Property Tax regulations

• Skills in Budgeting and Forecasting

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Proficiency in ADP - Payroll systems

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
