The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Manager, Storeroom Operations you will be responsible for managing all aspects of a storeroom operation including responsibility for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Maintenance, and Safety Performance, to provide world class service to assigned dealers and direct-end users. Reporting directly to this position are Distribution Supervisors, Operations Supervisors, and Operations Support Staff. This position will be responsible for Continuous Improvement, Training, Development, Mentoring, all personnel issues and performance-evaluation of subordinates.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensuring Safety/Environmental compliance.

  • Input to facility business plans including preparation of manpower, capital and expense budgets.

  • Monitor and manage key performance criteria (PQVC). Drive root-cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss (i.e., Safety, Quality, and Production).

  • Development of all medium-term strategic plans and direction.

  • Performance of production operations.

  • Promotion of the development of people through continuous education, employee involvement and increased responsibility with goal setting to meet standards.

  • Continuous improvement of customer/dealer/employee satisfaction.

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

  • Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of distribution processes, issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers.

  • Works with Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) basic processes and operations.

  • Maintains item and inventory management records.

  • Helps minimize bottlenecks and delays and the resulting impact on operating costs.

  • Uses real-time inventory software, with guidance, to move supplies where needed, when needed.

  • Assists in resolving issues related to physical space management.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.

  • Progressively responsible job-related experience in at least one of the following areas: Material Control, Purchasing, Parts Distribution Operations, Inventory Control, Manufacturing Operations, or Traffic Systems.

  • Previous Lean Operations/Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma experience.

  • Previous experience leading large teams.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
