Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Facilities function and the individuals who operate within the function. It includes strategic direction setting and integration with business goals and objectives, as well as all budgetary and facilities planning responsibilities, achieving results, and meeting the customer's needs and satisfaction within the building.
Primary Activities: Sets the right strategy and mix of predictive, preventative and breakdown maintenance to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained to keep operations and the site functional. Plans for the upgrade and replacement of facilities and equipment to improve quality, safety, security, efficiency, outputs, customer service and aesthetics. Manages the capital budget for the site. Plans and implements capital improvement projects and ensures compliance to safety, quality and validation requirements. Plans, gains approval and manages the facilities budgets to ensure costs are controlled. Recommends the selection of new contractors and monitors the performance of existing contractors and consultants, for example, security, custodial, cafeteria. Acts or participates as LivaNova's representative as required during inspections, including Fire Department, City Audits, FDA, TUV, DOH, EPA, Health Department. Prepares team and site for any scheduled audits and inspections collaborating with other site leaders and functional owners. Leads the facilities team to increase employee engagement and effectiveness of the team. Also ensures the team is appropriately trained for technical and compliance requirements. Responsible for managing multiple projects of high complexity. Works with other site leaders to continuously improve facilities customer service. Occasional travel for business needs. Stays current with new industry procedures and technologies to assist site remain best in class. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, electrical) or equivalent or commensurate experience. 5+ experience in facilities and equipment management. Minimum three years people leadership. Knowledge in electrical, quality, safety, materials handling, manual handling, chemicals handlings and storage standards and procedures. Requires exposure to operations involving applications in the following engineering disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical Civil, Structural, Environmental, and Industrial. Understanding of all systems needed to manage a complex building, such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatics, Carpentry, and General Maintenance both interior and exterior. Ability to work with the state and local municipalities for the licensing and permitable projects. Knowledge of techniques required in new and old building construction, reading of blue prints for both, plus alterations and facilities maintenance. Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Good understanding of basic accounting principles and strong analytical skills. Proven excellence in written and oral communication skills. Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an organizational setting. Effective negotiating skills. Demonstrates initiative and self motivation to improve the function. Demonstrated customer service orientation. Ability to apply analytical skills and scienti ic technical principles in problem solving. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Business related software.
