Trailer Shop Technicians perform various preventative maintenance tasks on our trucking fleet. While we prefer a candidate with a certificate or technical training in mechanics and truck repair, we are willing to work with any mechanical professional with knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and A.B.S. brake systems. Welding or fabrication experience is also a plus, as these techniques often come in handy when repairing trailers. Trailer Shop Technicians need to be able to work a schedule that requires availability for weekdays and weekends. The current Trailer Shop Technician opening is for Monday-Friday, 2 pm-10:30 pm.
Related Job Duties:
Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and Tractor-trailers
Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
Test equipment and systems for performance
Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems
Replace parts
Document repairs
Follows all OSHA regulations and safety requirements
Ensures that all trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience as a Trailer Technician
Completion of a certificate program or technical training in mechanics and truck repair
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Manual dexterity, experience with hand tools, and physical strength
Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and A.B.S. brake systems
Welding or fabrication experience
