Amazon UX Researcher II, Global Procurement and Payroll Products in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Join Amazon's Global Procurement and Payroll Products team as a UX Researcher and help create products that directly impact over 1.5M Amazonians.

We are seeking a UX Researcher to help our team understand user needs and personas across procurement and payroll products. You'll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have an impact at all stages of product development. You'll play a critical role, creating useful, usable, and delightful products. You will lead end-to-end user research initiatives utilizing appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies. You will own in-product feedback mechanisms and insights. And, as the sole UX Researcher, you will have an opportunity to articulate a holistic research strategy and process that ensures our technical investments across the product portfolio are informed by a deep understanding of our customers and their most pressing needs.

Key job responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.

• Collect and analyze user behavior through NPS/CSAT surveys and benchmark studies.

• Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to prioritize research opportunities.

• Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.

• Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years conducting user research, across a variety of development life cycle stages, where at least 2 years include hands-on qualitative research and moderating experience, including focus groups

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Anthropology, Behavioral Economics, Data Science, or 3+ years of field research experience

  • Experience in a range of research methods, both generative and evaluative types of research, including in context research, and user testing interviews

  • A portfolio that illustrates how your research informed decision-making, showcasing deliverables, and your ability to extract actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work with limited guidance, seeking direction when needed

  • Practical application of research methods and tools to solve and/or inform business problems, and the ability to identify that not all problems are new (or require new research), and ramp up quickly on new areas by diving deep into previous research across teams

  • Familiar with human centered design concepts, and ability to guide team through the research process within HCD methodologies

  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences

  • Direct experience using digital research platforms e.g., Dscout, Qualtrics

  • Ability to moderate 4+ hours of research in a day

  • Experience in employee-based research
