Where you’ll work:

You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.

Our Customer’s Mission:

Team Epsilon has been chosen to deliver full-spectrum IT and Cyber Security support to a critical and enduring multinational organization within the United States Department of Defense. This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. Our role in this mission involves managing classified environments, supporting international partners and foreign military sales (FMS) clients, providing top-tier desk-side support, and offering adaptable enterprise infrastructure solutions. An average day:

As Systems Administrator II | ACAS you will be responsible for supporting the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructures, including domestic and international data centers, for a large federal enterprise effort. This role involves working with server environments, implementing security measures, and ensuring system performance. You will collaborate with senior administrators and other IT teams to support mission-critical systems and contribute to system improvements. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.

  • Work with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V, to support virtual environments.

  • Implement basic security measures, including system hardening and routine patching.

  • Assist with managing storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery operations.

  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities.

  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine system issues and respond to service requests.

  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure system compatibility and integration.

  • Provide input on system design and enhancements, contributing to the improvement of the overall infrastructure

  • Install, configure, and maintain ACAS infrastructure including Tenable Security Center and Nessus Scanners while ensuring optimal performance and regular updates

  • Configure and manage vulnerability scanning operations including policies, templates, schedules, and monitoring scan execution for network coverage

  • Maintain accurate asset inventory, manage asset discovery scans, and track system boundaries while updating criticality ratings

  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize findings based on risk, and track remediation progress while generating metrics and trends

  • Configure compliance audit policies, map vulnerabilities to security controls, and monitor STIG/security checklist implementation

  • Create and maintain dashboards, generate vulnerability reports, and provide analysis for different stakeholders including trending metrics

  • Manage integration with other security tools and systems, including Active Directory integration and security information sharing

  • Implement and maintain access control through user account management, role-based permissions, and activity monitoring

  • Support incident response through targeted vulnerability scans, forensic data provision, and impact analysis while maintaining system documentation

Basic Qualifications:

  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 3+ years of vulnerability management experience and 2+ years hands-on ACAS/Tenable Security Center experience

  • Desired Security+ CE certification, plus at least one advanced certification (CASP+, CISSP, GSEC, or Tenable Certified Security Engineer) and current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher

  • Proven experience with ACAS core components including Tenable Security Center administration, Nessus scanner configuration, and vulnerability assessment methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows/Linux administration, system hardening, and network security concepts

  • Demonstrated expertise in DoD security policies, RMF, NIST standards, DISA STIGs, and security control implementation

  • Proficiency in vulnerability analysis, compliance scanning, SCAP implementation, and remediation tracking

  • Experience with report generation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and system monitoring

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with teams

  • Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance and experience with POA&M development, CMMC framework, and continuous monitoring practices

Other Requirements:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

  • Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
