Amazon Software Development Engineer, Publisher Technologies (PubTech) - PAS Deals in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon Ads - Publisher Technology (PubTech) is a new exciting program that is building supply-side solutions for our content publishers to sell their ad inventory. The PAS Deals team owns and enables features publishers need. We are looking for creative and thoughtful software engineers to collaborate with their peers in creation of solutions for our publishers.

The team is based out of Amazon's HQ2 in Arlington, VA and is focused on:

  • designing, building and supporting deals functionality which allows advertisers to confidently book their campaigns and get results.

  • designing, implementing, deploying and supporting globally-available, low-latency, high-throughput, and configurable ad serving systems

  • collaborating with other Amazon advertising teams in integrating with our systems

Key job responsibilities

  • Understand the fundamentals (and tradeoffs) of Amazon’s advertising stacks.

  • Drive technical solutions/architecture for a Publisher Ad Server that can scale to millions of customers globally.

  • Lead the design of large components, get hands dirty and write code, and ultimately deploy successful enterprise-level systems that can be leveraged for a broad set of use cases.

  • Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions with a bias toward standards based and flexible designs.

  • Develop a strong culture of rapid experimentation, measurement, and iteration.

  • Build relationships and earn trust with partner teams

Our team is to build world-class deals packaging for publishers to sell their inventory and for advertisers to buy with confidence knowing they will get the impressions they want to the right customer segments. Our team works fast and has fun.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
