Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, ITA Assessments in Arlington, Virginia

The Intelligent Talent Acquisition (ITA) and Assessments Engineering team is responsible for delivering an industry leading candidate experience; developing, building, and innovating, global, scalable technology recruiting solutions that are both powerful and science based. This team and technologies are a critical component in Amazon’s continued growth and launching of new products and services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work through all phases of the project lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, designing services that lay foundation for the new technology platform, build new interfaces and also integrate with existing architectures, developing and testing code, and delivering seamless implementations for Global customers.

  • Evaluate and utilize AWS technologies where appropriate, such as EC2, RDS/DynamoDB/RedShift, to design and build scalable backend web services and customer facing APIs.

  • Possess knowledge and skills in building highly interactive interfaces using modern technologies i.e. JavaScript, Typescript, Module Federation, React & React Native.

  • Deeply understand and work with variety of developer tools across the spectrum of Software development lifecycle.

  • Design products that scale to meet demand.

  • Combine the best of internal and external services, and grow to meet the complex needs of your customers.

  • Enjoy solving problems that will take you beyond your technical abilities.

  • Work well in a heterogeneous environment of different languages and technologies, and can bring flexibility, speed and quality to this team.

  • Build iteratively using agile methodologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
