SAIC Senior Systems Engineer in ARLINGTON, Virginia
Description
SAIC is hiring a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design an initiative that frames avenues of S&T investment for PDASD (Critical Technologies) to assure sustainment of military forces across all vital supply classes by 2040 within mission-imposed resource constraints.
This position places an emphasis on deep technical knowledge across the disparate science and engineering disciplines; the ability to mobilize stakeholders across the Department of Defense, other USG partners, industry, and academia; and ability and stature to represent and communicate the topic as needed.
This position is hybrid remote with onsite work in Arlington, VA.
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
TS/SCI.
U.S. citizenship.
Required Education:
- Bachelors and fourteen (14) or more years' experience; Masters and twelve (12) or more years experience.
Required Qualifications:
Experience coordinating complex initiatives in Government and Academia.
Ability to define and structure problems and solutions; develop and coordinate study/project and program plans.
Deep familiarity with DOD, the Services and Alliances pertinent to S&T and relationships across these communities necessary to align and coordinate new and existing efforts.
Demonstrated ability to define and assemble Operational Environment and Mission vignettes as use cases and input for analysis, models, benchmarks, and overall system performance.
Experience preparing and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts; technical directions; and future technology requirements.
Experience collaborating with other engineers, scientists and work domain experts in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and coordinate with senior executives/general officers.
Attention to detail, strong multitask and time management skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – ability to produce and deliver high quality reports and presentations to clients and sponsors.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong relationships with DARPA, OSD, Services and Service Labs, DOE National Labs.
Supervisory skills suitable to manage a diverse and distributed team.
Ability to engage and manage and be accountable to USG and other high-level stakeholders.
Distinguished peer-reviewed publication record in academic journals or industry publications.
Record of building and leading major initiatives in Government and Academia.
Past research in appropriate fields; and experience working with and understanding of military systems and service person training.
