Applied Research Associates, Inc. Senior Physical Security Analyst (Remote) in Arlington, Virginia

Come and join our dynamic group of problem solvers at the Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Physical Security Analyst to join on our team and provide our customer support. The Senior Physical Security Analyst is a critical role focused on understanding the physical security and resilience of the defense industrial base’s logistics and supply chain network. This position requires a deep understanding of physical security within the context of national defense. This position will apply advanced analytical methods to recommend mitigation of supply chain physical security vulnerabilities and report best practices across the enterprise. Will ensure proposed solutions meet regulatory guidance, is accurate, complete, meets DoD-level policy and tasks intent and is supported by corresponding policies and procedures. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Anticipated annual salary range: $115,000 to $125,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location.

What you will do as a Senior Physical Security Analyst (may not be all inclusive):

  • Conduct complex research and analysis to evaluate and understand the physical security measures across the defense industrial base supply chain

  • Provide written recommendations and action items to mitigate vulnerabilities

  • Deliver technical studies and analysis focused on modernizing technical aspects to improve physical security of the defense industrial base supply chain

  • Utilize predictive models and simulations to assess vulnerabilities and risks within logistics networks

  • Collaborate with defense contractors and government agencies to ensure alignment of security protocols with national security objectives

  • Design and implement physical security strategies for logistics operations, considering geo-political, cyber, and physical threats

  • Utilize data analytics to optimize inventory management, routes, and emergency response plans

  • Lead cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges, ensuring continuity of operations under various threat scenarios

  • Provide expert analysis on the impact of new technologies and policies on defense logistics and physical security

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and briefings for senior leadership, outlining strategic recommendations and actionable insights

  • Identify critical suppliers and assess their physical security resilience

  • Travel up to 30%

  • Prepares formal plans, procedures, risk and vulnerability assessments, reviews and assessments of protection profile requirements and capabilities

  • Collaborates with internal and external counterparts and agencies

Senior Physical Security Analyst Experience and Skill Required:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to obtain & maintain Secret Security Clearance

  • Travel up to 30%

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years’ work-related experience in Department of Defense physical security

  • Knowledge in a wide range of antiterrorism/force protection, security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and electronic security practices

  • Ability to respond to urgent security situations impacting the defense supply chain

  • Proven ability to write about complex issues in an accessible manner, and process large amounts of information

  • Intimate knowledge of DOD strategic physical security policy and defense industry force protection standards

  • Headquarters level physical security action officer experience

  • Knowledge of the defense industrial base, including key players, supply chain dynamics, and regulatory environment

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-level security assessments and develop strategic solutions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences

  • Project Management skills

  • Ability to travel to various sites to evaluate physical security supply chain logistics operations and collaborate with customers

Nice to Have/Preferred:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Certified Physical Security Management

  • Proven ability to lead large programs and personnel

  • PMP Certification
