Description

To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Network Engineer to join our Digital and AI Team as we embark on a large initiative to lead the design and operate integrated Enterprise IT solutions that deliver AI-enabled capabilities and enable data-driven decision making to missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.
The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas.
Core Responsibilities
Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling.
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis. May evaluate new technology.
Conducts testing of network systems.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Develop, sustain, and meticulously document comprehensive enterprise architecture artifacts for the Advana Ecosystem, adhering to DoDAF standards.
Create detailed reference architectures, solution architectures, system architectures, network architectures, security architectures, data architectures, and process architectures.
Install and configure Government-specified automated tools to efficiently track network configurations.
Monitor the status and performance of the network to ensure optimal operation, using advanced automated tools.
Detect, diagnose, and resolve network problems swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain seamless network operations.
Project future capacity requirements to ensure the network infrastructure can support evolving demands and organizational growth.
Qualifications
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Network+ certification
CCNA/CCNP certification
Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
Experience working in an Agile Community, using Agile methodology for product and project management.
Experience working in a DoD environment supporting one of the Armed Forces in an enterprise IT environment, across multiple domains and various clearance levels.
SEC+ certification or similar certification to meet DoD 8140 (formerly DoD 8570) requirements.
US citizenship and a Secret security clearance is required.
