We are seeking a leader for the Telco Specialist team who can help shape and deliver on our cloud strategy for our global telco customers and partners. As a specialist leader, you will be on the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies, linking technology with measurable business value for organizations.

As a senior leader on the WWSO team, you will use your strong management skills and your experience selling technology solutions to coach, retain, and motivate a senior business development team that works with C-Level clients to transform their business. With each assignment, you will employ your dual strategic / tactical approach to determine short and long-term plans with a focus on increasing the team’s overall performance.

As a full-time employee, you will leverage your senior leadership skills and depth of experience to help shape the expectations and deliverables of flexible working schedules. This specific role will be leading Specialist in the Enterprise Application Migration and Modernization portfolio of services including serverless, containers and native cloud migrations for the telecommunications industry.

In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of your team. We need innovative leaders who can look beyond the technology and consider the value our technology creates for our customers, and can help change how our technology is viewed. This is critical for the role. You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services teams, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Have a strong understanding of large scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working in business development or a similar role and experience managing a team of a subject matter experts.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess both a business and technical background that allows them to strategically engage at the executive level both with customers and internal stakeholders. You should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a fast moving strategy plan. Operational excellence is a key requirement for the role.

• Hire, on-board, coach, and develop new Specialist from internal and external sources.

• Develop mechanisms, and tools that enable fast engagement with customers and track key metrics, and KPIs for your team.

• Build and leverage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to further the adoption of AWS services in the market.

• Lead a Customer Obsessed business that delights our customers and aids in their innovation.

• Accelerate customer adoption through well-developed sales engagements and successful GTM strategies to achieve customer outcomes.

• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS specialist community

• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices. Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

• Travel up to 30% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 10+ years’ experience leading high performance teams in a matrixed environment

  • 10+ years of relevant sales experience

  • 7+ years of technology experience in Enterprise Application Migration and Modernization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Established track record of building rapport with customer executives (e.g. CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts, ideally across multiple industries.

  • Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. You've not only carried quotas, you've consistently exceeded them by doing the right thing for your customer.

  • Experience in a heavily matrixed sales environment, including developing, implementing, managing, and executing cross-functional solutions-led go-to-market growth initiatives and sales motion.

  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including public and hybrid cloud platforms.

  • Technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus. ·

  • Recognized industry expertise in primary discipline(s) with proven public speaking and media prowess.
