RTX BBN Technologies is looking for a Technical Writer & Editor to craft compelling proposals and other technical documentation. The successful candidate must be able to interpret and explain technical concepts in clear, concise prose; a self-starter; work effectively on an individual basis as well as part of a team; and able to plan workflows to meet deadlines.

Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or a related field of study with 2+ years applicable experience including
Edit, proofread, format, and prepare documents for customer-ready delivery
Evaluate proposal requirements and provide compliant outlines
Review, edit, and proofread all components of proposals for clarity, completeness, and conformity to requirements
Position requires US citizenship with ability and willingness to obtain a US Government Security Clearance
Qualifications We Prefer - Familiar with all, Expert in some
Work with technical staff to understand proposal approach
Engage with all levels of the business by leading or participating in tiger teams to increase win probability and improve company-wide proposal practices
Provide configuration management support using Microsoft 365
Ability to digest scientific and/or technical data and translate it into clear and concise written material for a semi-technical audience
Relevant experience developing technical proposals and documentation
Relevant experience creating storyboards and outlines to organize a proposal and proposal writing efforts
Exceptional proofreading skills
Ability to extract requirements from a BAA, RFP, RPP, or equivalent and construct a compliance matrix
Ensure that a proposal satisfies all the requirements and expresses them in the terms and language of the solicitation
Technical background—ability to write about technical systems and to interpret engineering data
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, etc.)
Ability to work in agile environments with rapid deadlines and multiple, ongoing projects
Excellent organizational skills, including time organization, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
