Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Project Manager for a Federal Client in the DC Metro Area. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leading a construction management team to deliver capital construction projects for US Federal Government clients.

  • Managing, coordinating, and administering a group of projects or one major project from conceptual stages through all phases of the projects, with the assistance of the project team.

  • Being responsible for overall performance of the project team and taking the lead in reporting and ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications.

  • Reviewing contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and establishing schedules and budgets for compliance with project scope requirements and contract obligations.

  • Taking leadership initiative in working with internal team members, and client departments including cost/scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, construction, contracts, legal, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services and departments as required to successfully manage projects.

  • Providing an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors and governing agencies.

  • Reviewing and commenting on design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and representing the client's interests to ensure control of and validating that change orders are current, fair and efficiently processed.

  • Reviewing comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinating timely resolutions.

  • Proactively monitoring critical project milestone dependencies, and tracking actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones.

  • Reviewing project key performance indicators and forecasting any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciling risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets.

  • Coordinating communications, stakeholder contacts and maintaining good working relationships.

  • Monitoring and controlling contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts.

  • Reviewing builder submittals and RFI documents, and providing field surveillance to ensure the specified quality of design.

  • Conducting project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work.

  • Working with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education BS.

  • Experience with managing US Federal Government projects within the past 4 years.

  • Relevant experience leading contacts, managing people, budgets, schedules, overseeing subcontractor performance, and working with stakeholders and governing agencies on behalf of a public-works owner.

  • Understanding of all contract documents and in field problem solving skills and the interpretation of drawings and specifications

Preferred Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive construction project management experience that includes knowledge of all project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.

  • Master's Degree in Construction Management, engineering, or architecture.

  • Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture professional certifications (CCM/PMP) and/or license (RA/PE).

  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM)

  • OSHA 10 Certification.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.
