VPD Government Solutions Financial Analyst II in Arlington, Virginia
The Financial Analyst shall provide support in all areas as they relate to the federal budget and invoice processing the areas of financial management and reporting, planning and analysis and reporting, and portfolio management to the federal lead. This position may be asked to supervise a team of 2 to 4 staff members.
Responsibilities: Analyze financial data and provide forecasting and analysis of government spend Review, validate data, and provide analysis and assessment on True - Up Calculator using financial data across several Excel workbooks Utilize PowerBI and other power apps to integrate financial validation and analysis and invoice processing Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, spend under management Analyze current and past financial data and performance Prepare reports and projections based on analysis Evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation Explore investment opportunities Establish and evaluate profit plans Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
Requirements: Bachelors degree (MA/MS in Business, Finance, Data Analytics or relevant field preferred) 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related field Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, Tableau and other data visualization software Familiarity with financial programs and software Strong understanding of principles of finance Financial Analyst Essential Skills Strategic thinking Ability to persuade senior stakeholders Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Ability to multitask and operate on short deadlines Presentation skills to executive stakeholders Time management and organizational skills U.S. Citizenship is required.
