POLITICO is seeking Business Development Specialist to join AgencyIQ, a regulatory research and intelligence division of POLITICO. As a BDS, you will be an integral part of the New Business team that will identify and contact future AgencyIQ subscribers, helping to deliver a high-value subscription product to a sophisticated audience of regulatory professionals.
The ideal candidate has a self-starter attitude who can quickly identify opportunities, adapt as our business evolves, communicate effectively and help us impress potential subscribers with a best-in-class product.
AgencyIQ (https://agencyiq.com/) provides regulatory professionals reliable access to research and insights, real-time data, and non-partisan journalism about regulatory developments from key federal agencies.
How You’ll Do It:
Identify and contact prospective subscribers using both in-bound leads and prospecting strategies, including emailing, LinkedIn messaging, cold-calling, and other methods to create and build new market initiatives;
Schedule quality meetings with top-tier contacts through consistent and creative outreach;
Research potential subscribers and identify key information to better inform outreach and marketing;
Develop strong knowledge of AgencyIQ’s content and the regulatory environment of clients to help inform targeted outreach strategies;
Develop extensive pre-meeting materials to ensure sales team has all critical information in advance of meetings with prospective new business
Assist Commercial Directors throughout the evaluation process to ensure prospective clients receive the highest quality service and have an optimal experience;
Provide data and analyses to inform outreach strategy set by AgencyIQ’s leadership team;
Contribute to the development of a marketing strategy for top-of-funnel contacts;
Provide strategic insights to AgencyIQ’s leadership team on visit acquisition tactics and attendance drivers for AgencyIQ events; and
Support existing clients and prospects on trial with platform access issues, login support, and other administrative issues.
What You'll Need:
2 years of professional experience in sales, business development, account management, or marketing, including internship and externship roles;
Excellent communication skills;
Strong client service ethic;
Self-starter attitude and ability to multitask;
Passion and interest for sales, marketing, and business development;
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills; and
Ability to present data and insights upwards to senior leaders.
Bonus Points if you have:
Experience in or extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology industries.
Experience using Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo.
Experience in a startup environment or a client-facing, revenue generating role
