Amentum Analytic Outreach (AO) Division Program Analyst in Arlington, Virginia

Amentum has an open position for an entry- to junior-level research and outreach professional in a dynamic office that organizes workshops and carries out research/analysis in support US Government and private sector clients on wide-ranging international affairs and national security issues. At any given time, the program analyst will, among other taskings, commission research papers and organize and author final reports for outreach functions—to include conferences, workshops, roundtables, games, red teams, and meetings—in support of publicly and privately-funded programs focused on national security issues. The successful candidate will be a self-starter—requiring minimal supervision or oversight in fulfillment of job functions—with excellent organizational, writing, research, interpersonal, and communication skills .

Job functions include:

  • Manage, organize, and contribute to various outreach functions—to include boards of experts, conferences, roundtables, training/red team exercises, games, and simulations—on wide-ranging national security and international affairs topics.

  • Meticulously catalogue event proceedings and draft polished, final reports for US-Government-sponsored events.

  • Engage directly with experts from academia, think tanks, and the private sector in support of outreach functions and commissioned research.

  • Conduct open-source research and analysis—in the production of research papers, literature reviews, etc.—in support of US Government and private sector clients on wide-ranging international affairs and national security topics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Undergraduate degree in regional affairs, international relations, political science, economics, history, security studies, or a related field. Strong academic record.

  • Ability to take copious notes for workshops ranging in duration/theme and draft well-written, polished final reports varying in page-length.

  • Excellent organizational, writing, research, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, in particular Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • A SECRET-level clearance or above.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in regional affairs, international relations, political science, economics, history, security studies, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in event management and/or international relations, foreign policy, intelligence, or a related field.

  • Foreign language skills
