NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL Sr Accounting Services Specialist in Arlington, Texas

Job Description:

Are you an accounting professional looking to take your career to the next level. The North Central Texas Council of Government is looking for is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sr. Accounting Services Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining procedures required for the weekly processing of payments, managing accounts payable, and monitoring invoices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Processing:Verify expenses, account numbers, and signatures on payment requests; ensuring correct information is included with each invoice. Enter receipts, and purchase requisitions into the Costpoint accounting system.
  • Bank Transaction Coding:Complete coding for daily bank deposit transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and backup for future reference.
  • Purchase Order Changes:Work with procurement and accountants to facilitate the change order process.
  • Monthly Reports:Prepare and submit monthly copier and postage reports; ensure bank reconciliations are completed.
  • Invoice Generation:Generate invoices to collect payments for services or products provided by various departments.
  • Cash Transaction Clearing:Clear entries associated with cash transactions created from bank statement coding.
  • Support Senior Accountants:Assist Senior Accountants with various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Other Duties:Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Associates degree or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
  • Experience:One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Skills:
    • Intermediate reading, math, and writing skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret various documents.
    • Proficiency in dealing with real numbers, fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions, and measurements.
    • Ability to write reports and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Basic technical skills and familiarity with accounting software.
