Job Summary

The Physics department in the College of Science at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites outstanding candidates to apply for a postdoctoral position in neutrino physics and detector R&D. The successful candidate is expected to make important contributions to the Short-baseline Near Detector (SBND) during the commissioning and first data taking period, contribute to leading analysis of neutrino data taken within the Short-Baseline Neutrino Experiments (ICARUS, SBND, and MicroBooNE), and have the opportunity to take part in detector R&D related to the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE).The UTA high energy and nuclear particle physics group consists of faculty which work on cutting edge detector R&D, the US short and long baseline neutrino experiments, and searches for rare processes in nuclear physics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Small scale prototyping, monte carlo based analysis, and hardware instrumentation in particle detectors.

Required Qualifications

PhD in experimental nuclear or particle physics.

Preferred Qualifications

Neutrino physics phenomenology and analysis, familiarity with HEP trigger based systems, interest in hardware and detector R&D.
