Histology Tech II

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 W. Randol Mill Road, Arlington TX 76012

Work environment: Join our Texas Health Arlington Memorial Anatomic Pathology lab team as a Histology technician and play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in our community. The identification and understanding of disease processes, including cancer, would not be possible without the skills and contributions of you, a highly trained allied health professional. You belong here!

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, variable schedule

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has a rich history in North Texas serving the local communities of Arlington, Kennedale, Pantego, Mansfield and Grand Prairie. We’ve been recognized by the American Heart Association with a Gold Plus award for the exceptional care we provide to our stroke, heart failure and chest pain patients. We’re also a designated Magnet hospital! Our community members recently recognized us as the best emergency department in Arlington. Plus, we’re recognized by Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for care of our patients receiving Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery procedures. We’re a top choice in North Texas for cancer and emergency services, women’s health and much more.

What you’ll need

  • High School or equivalent is required upon hire.

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science is preferred. New graduates are welcome to apply.

  • HT(ASCP) - Histotechnician or a HTL(ASCP) - Histotechnologist is required within 90 days of hire.

What you’ll do

  • Specimen Integrity

  • Specimen Processing

  • Microtomy

  • Preparation of Slides and Stains

  • Evaluate stains

  • Reference Lab
