Saving Lives and Making a Difference!?*?*NCT9-1-1 is responsible for 40+?Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) in 13 counties?surrounding the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.NCT9-1-1 supports these ECCs through maintaining and upgrading 9-1-1 equipment, providing up-to-date mapping information, training the 9-1-1 telecommunicators, educating the public on the proper use of 9-1-1, and monitoring ECC functionality and compliances.?NCT9-1-1 serves a population of 1.9 million and covers 10,800+ square miles.?

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for innovation in the public safety sector? We are seeking a Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) to spearhead our efforts to enhance efficiency and drive technological advancements within the 9-1-1 industry. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dynamic innovation and strategic services team, manage large-scale pilot projects, and oversee critical data-sharing initiatives.
As the CIO, you will explore and implement cutting-edge technologies, including Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) systems, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, to improve emergency response capabilities. You will foster strategic partnerships with public and private sector entities, ensuring collaborative innovation that meets the evolving needs of our operations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building high-performing teams, managing vendor relationships, and driving technical data-sharing initiatives. Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for fostering trust and collaboration across diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing innovation team.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the 9-1-1 industry.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, managing procurement and contract negotiations.
- Oversee pilot projects to test and validate new technologies.
- Establish partnerships to collaborate on innovation initiatives.
- Develop a strategic innovation roadmap to advance our goals.
Requirements:
- Professional level of knowledge in a discipline equivalent to that which is acquired in a Masters degree-level of study.
- Over nine years experience. Technology implementation, or a related field, with focus on 9-1-1 industry preferred.
