EJ Maintenance Supervisor in Ardmore, Oklahoma

SUMMARY Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the foundry by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. * Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. * Troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. * Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products. * Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations. * Coordinates preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. * Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. * Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. * Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with engineers. * Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. * Ensures training and instruction of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. * Works with the human resources department to create programs for development of personnel currently in, or personnel who have the potential for, skilled trades. * Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees employees in the Maintenance and or Electrical Department(s). Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units on assigned shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One to two years of supervisory experience, strongly preferred. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Certain areas or activities in the plant may fall under the silica exposure guidelines.
