Boston Scientific Senior Supervisor, Packaging R&D in Arden Hills, Minnesota

About the role: The Packaging R&D Supervisor supports both Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx) and Peripheral Interventions (PI) divisions. This position works with cross-functional global teams to support many commercial product types across multiple divisions and manufacturing sites. In a Hybrid work mode, the Packaging R&D Supervisor will manage and support a team of engineers and technicians apply Packaging R&D principles and directives across projects including packaging design, design changes and enhancements, standards compliance, and cost-reduction improvement efforts. This is a hybrid position based out of Arden Hills, MN with the expectation to be on-site 3 days a week. Your responsibilities will include: Supervise 5+ direct reports (engineers and/or technicians) in Packaging R&D including assignment and operational oversight of small to medium projects within the Sustaining organization. Technical and developmental strategy for direct reports. Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, technical coaching, assigning progressively challenging tasks and conducting performance reviews. Monitor daily work operations and provide direction and guidance (technical and professional) to staff to achieve project goals. Lead and participate in Packaging R&D initiatives. Influence implementation of packaging changes/requirements to commercial devices. Supports the execution and documentation of Packaging R&D activities. Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and project deliverables. Drives the development and continuous improvement of department tools and methodologies. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, or equivalent. 7+ years of Packaging R&D experience 2+ years of direct or indirect supervisory experience ISO 11607, relevant ASTM and ISTA standards, and Quality System understanding and demonstrated use Travel approximately <10% Preferred qualifications: 3+ years medical device experience Strong communication skills (verbal & written) and presentation skills Problem solver, capable of facilitating the problem-solving process & driving issues to closure Excellent organizational and planning skills; drives for results Ability to collaborate and work with global teams Established supervisorial or equivalent leadership experience #LI-Hybrid Requisition ID:587084 As a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most - united by a deep caring for human life.
