We are currently seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Data Center technical specialist and/or low voltage technician and should be comfortable working in a data center environment.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include tasks such as racking, stacking, and managing cables, including CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for collaborating with external vendors to oversee the equipment intake process and documenting in Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools. Furthermore, the candidate will need to work with carriers for carrier installation and troubleshooting issues.

Looking ahead, we have some significant projects on the horizon. Major construction is scheduled to begin in our Operations office in Appleton in either Q1 or Q2 of 2025. This will involve substantial preparation to clean up the data center and modernize it for new equipment and fiber connections. Furthermore, we are also planning the decommissioning of a Minnesota-based DR site in preparation for a move to CoLo.

 The skills required for this role include expertise in data center operations, cable and infrastructure management, hardware troubleshooting, and experience with CAT-6, CAT-5, racking, and stacking. Experience with ticketing systems, cable installation, server support, and hardware installation will also be valuable. In summary, the key skills we are looking for in a candidate include: - Experience in racking, stacking, and cable management (CAT-6a, CAT-6, and fiber optics) - Low voltage cabling experience - Experience working with external vendors to manage the equipment intake process, and documenting in Excel and other Data Center Management (DCM) Software tools - Working with carriers for carrier installation and troubleshooting issues.
