Apple Valley Village Health Care Center is hiring a compassionate, patient and energetic individual to join our team as a Full-Time Therapeutic Activities Assistant! In this role, you will conduct fun, meaningful, and exciting activities with our residents and help them enjoy their day. We are looking for someone who is reliable, positive, energetic, compassionate and patient to join our team.
This is a Full-Time position working weekdays, with an occasional weekend or evening for special events.
Pay Range: $17 - $20.72 / hour depending on experience.

Therapeutic Activities Assistant responsibilities:
Attend and participate in daily Activities Team planning meetings.
Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
Assist in planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programs.
Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.
Document resident activity attendance and degree of involvement.
Interview new residents and complete intake documentation.
Conduct quarterly, annual, and significant change reviews including coding of MDS, progress notes, and care planning.
Attend and verbally present resident progress reports at care conferences with the interdisciplinary team.
Act as a positive representative at all times.
Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
Therapeutic Activities Assistant skills and requirements:
Prior experience implementing activity programs to long-term-care residents or equivalent education (Occupational therapy or health/human services related field) preferred.
Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
