This role in summary

As a GCD Project Leader, you will support GCD’s activities in creating the customer experience for the next generation of home appliances. Support GCD’s integration into cross functional teams, Working collaboratively within the organization to hold GCD accountable to deliver our aesthetic and product experience direction on all aspects of multiple projects including scope management, time management, cost management, quality etc. to ensure a successful project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Support & Lead projects using the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) System, for Production Development Projects (PDP) & Advanced Development Projects (ADP)

  • Provide project governance to deliver sustainable product leadership

  • Integrate GCD voice in the entire project lifecycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing.

  • Engage project sponsors and key stakeholders for scope alignment and change management.

  • Provide continuous project status and insights (resources & budget) to sponsors and other key stakeholders with recommendations to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

  • Support & Lead cross functional teams in project activities through weekly core team meetings, 1:1 interactions and other communications

  • Establish strong relationships, build a deep understanding of the enterprise strategies and objectives

  • Discover, evaluate and implement process improvements based on industry standards

  • Ensure process compliance, Conduct training / workshops to help team's adherence to process protocols

  • Other tasks as needed to support the development and implementation of project management in line with the WPD System including related processes and tools.

  • Manage and ensure company assets are being deployed in accordance with policy and project deliverables

  • Protect and secure intellectual property controls within the initiatives under control of this position

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in but not limited to in Engineering or Business)

  • 7+ years of experience in a product development role,

  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager

  • Experience leading and driving projects; risk management, cost delivery, financial planning, and analysis experience

  • Experience with Product Development process and Planning

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or MBA

  • Project management expertise, ideally PMI certification and practical experience

  • Process/Lean Process Experience, Drive continuous improvement of the planning process.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to connect disparate data sources into a straightforward, insightful story

  • Adapt and re-prioritize activities in a rapidly changing environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to interact with all levels of the organization across, finance, procurement, human resources and engineering, influence change within the organization

  • 3-4 years experience as a Project Manager in a Industrial Design department

  • Experience in a multinational corporation
