VCA Apex Animal Hospital in Apex, NC is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our leadership team as Technician Supervisor !

We are an AAHA accredited General Practice that provides excellent services for our loyal patients. The right candidate will be professional, motivated, and have a passion for veterinary medicine and mentorship. In this position, you will be supporting our doctors and team by creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for our clients and patients. What You’ll Do

The Veterinary Technician Supervisor role will allow you to take the skills and experience you’ve gained over the years in this profession and put them to great use in our hospital. Minimum 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine . Must be proficient in the skills listed below. Willing to train the right team member for the supervisory role . Consideration made for a Veterinary Assistant with the right qualities to be successful in this role.

This is a working supervisory position responsible for the leadership and development of the patient care team. Technical skills that you will be utilizing include:

  • Physical examinations and patient assessment

  • Anesthesia monitoring

  • Surgical preparation and assisting

  • Dentistry

  • Radiology

  • Laboratory work

  • Venipuncture

  • Catheter placement

  • Pharmacy

  • Patient recovery

  • Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals

Supervisory duties will include supporting the hospital manager in:

  • Team training, development and support

  • Implementing department policies and procedures

  • Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings

  • Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs

  • Record keeping

  • Marketing

  • Facility maintenance

  • Participation in continuing education opportunities and periodic meetings with the regional leadership team

VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $25-$28 / hour based on experience and qualifications.
