Essential Job Functions:

  • Developing software products and solutions, offering guidance, code reviews, and technical support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Support the professional growth of less experienced team members.

  • Contribute to the execution of software engineering strategies, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments.

  • Manage project tasks, prioritize work, and plan to meet project goals.

  • Monitor project timelines to ensure efficient execution.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, resolving issues as they arise.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with CyberLife or a similar life insurance product.

  • Proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, VSAM, JCL, REXX, and CICS.

  • Deep understanding of the Life Insurance domain.

  • Experience in both developing new functions and working as an analyst.

  • Proven experience working within Agile teams.

  • Experience with an onshore-offshore development model.

  • Ability to write test scenarios for developed functionality.

  • Strong analytical and coding skills for designing system changes.

  • Preferably knowledgeable in CyberLife online and batch processing architecture.

  • Capable of producing technical documentation, including module-level specifications, work product reviews, process improvements, and unit test scenarios.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Typically 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and development methodologies.

  • Strong programming and debugging skills.

  • Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity.

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role.

Other Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications or training are a plus.

Working Environment:

  • Remote, based in any USA city.
