The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is seeking a professional and positive individual wishing to serve our community in the position of Medical Coordinator. This role is responsible for ensuring medical services are provided to inmates in accordance with federal and state requirements and statutes as well as managing health contracts, services, and assisting the with oversight of medical programs. Pay & Benefits Anticipated starting salary: $80,516 to $96,616 ($38.71 to $46.45 per hour). 2024 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 36. $80,516 to $112,715 ($38.71 to $54.19 per hour). 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays. Advancement/professional development opportunities. Work Location This position will work at the Anoka County Jail, 325 Jackson Street, Anoka. Expected work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of the Medical Coordinator (Lead Program Planner) Ensure compliance of all Jail Health contracts and ongoing relationships with providers. Develop RFPs according to county and departmental policies as requested. Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts that align with Anoka County policy, rules, and regulations. Evaluate contracts for renewal or expansion and conduct contract audits. Develop contract outcome reports for the department as directed by leadership. May create grant proposals and submit as assigned. Develop and manage a working knowledge of legal agreements such as Cooperative Agreements, Joint Power Agreements and Memorandum of Understanding to provide needed services. Complete statistical data analysis for the department to ensure key issues and key data are presented to leadership. Develop, implement, and maintain data reports that support the overall mission and goals of the department. Work with leadership to identify changes in laws and rules that will have potential effect on grants, contracts and programs and develop and implement changes. Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Responsible for coordinating and working with subgroups within county and community service delivery providers. Responsible for oversight of medical invoicing and billing. Planning and coordinating medical training for detention staff per state requirements. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Bachelor's degree in publ c health, nursing, or related field and at least 5 years of job-related experience. Current licensure as a registered nurse. In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Must be able to credibly testify in a court of law. Successfully pass an extensive criminal background investigation. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Previous experience in a correctional health or similar setting. Previous leadership experience. Knowledge of criminal justice system. Physical Demands and Work Conditions Ability to use computer, radio, intercom, and other security/emergency equipment. Ability to see, hear, remember and to analyze facts, exercise sound judgment and coordinate efforts to resolve problems. Ability to engage with all people, including inmates, on a fair and impartial basis and in strict condentiality. Ability to tolerate the stress associated with working in a potentially dangerous environment, deal with stressful situations, effectively handle emergencies, threats or harassment in a calm manner while maintaining control and de-escalating the situation. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, crouch, stoop, lift and carry medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Must demonstrate personal characteristics of highest integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness consistent with medical work. Must abide by all local, state, and federal laws. No tattoos, scars or brands that qualify as "unauthorized Tattoos" under the sheriff's Office Policy 1044.3 are allowed under any circumstances by any member of the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. Tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are prohibited. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. (Complete policy available upon request).
