nVent Design Engineer, Sustaining in Anoka, Minnesota

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Works with a multi-functional team that will work to improve product efficiency, quality, and sustaining engineering enclosure products

  • Participate in multi-functional teams to help solve quality, production or field issues

  • Coordinate and assist in development of project schedules

  • Apply specific technological expertise to specific projects, i.e. component selection analysis

  • Initiate and coordinate prototyping and testing

  • Assist in coordinating outside activities such as regulatory or other third party testing

  • Establish test specifications and protocols

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 0-2 years of engineering knowledge, CAD knowledge (Solidworks), PLM

  • Basic knowledge in manufacturing methods

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the technical strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Ability to use product knowledge to make decisions that result in improved customer satisfaction

  • Ability to lead multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a fast paced team environment in a self-directed manner

  • Basic ability to interpret and analyze professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; analyze mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations
