Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Job Description

Local union contractor is seeking a field technician to support its ammonia refrigeration department.

Responsibilities

• Service ammonia products and equipment including ammonia testing, moisture testing, and leak detection.

• Change compressors, swap valves, and offset temperatures.

• Calibrate equipment, pressure test systems.

• Perform routine maintenance, quarterly and annual checks.

• Troubleshoot issues and provide customer service.

• Participate in new construction, equipment, system, and appliance installation (10% of the time).

Essential Skills

• Experience with refrigerant maintenance.

• Experience with Ammonia OR Freon.

• Experience with industrial or commercial maintenance.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High pressure piping license, EPA license, CARO, CIRO certification (Any of these are nice to have).

• OSHA 10 (Preferred).

Work Environment

7AM-4PM, Monday-Friday. On-call rotation from Thursday to Wednesday, every 6-8 weeks. Occasional overnight travel once or twice per year. Travel within a 5-state radius if able, otherwise staying local. Work in various environments including Hyvee, Ice Rinks, Cold Storage, and other industrial and commercial settings. Join a team of 13 technicians in the ammonia department. Training provided through ride-alongs with experienced technicians until you are comfortable with tasks.

This is a Permanent position based out of Anoka, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $114254.00
