Anoka County Public Health and Environmental Services (PHES) department currently has an opening for an Administrative Assistant in Recycling and Resource Solutions. This position assists with activities and partnerships needed to reach state mandated and county waste management and recycling goals. Pay & Benefits Salary: $48,006 to $56,409 ($23.08 to $27.12 per hour). 2024 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 28: $48,006 to $64,812 ($23.08 to $31.16 per hour). 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays. Advancement/professional development opportunities. Work Location This position will work at the Anoka County Field Operations Building, located at 1530 Bunker Lake Blvd NW, Andover, MN 55304. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Administrative Assistant. Provide clerical and administrative support for the department, adhering to data privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations. Act as a liaison and point of contact for employees, the department, and/or the public, including performing Reception Desk duties on a rotation or as assigned. Deliver remarkable customer service while answering phones, assisting walk-in guests, and reserving facilities. Translate concerns and requests for information into clear and accurate responses and elevate concerns as needed. Perform office administration and operations activities such as maintaining physical and electronic files, tracking personnel, handling billing, account maintenance and verifying purchases. Prepare and log regularly recurring data for department reports and documents. Receive, store, maintain and order office supplies inventory. Track orders and investigate problems. Create and edit written communication including meeting minutes, letters, reports, and presentations as directed. Compile and coordinate materials for presentations and meetings for multiple leadership levels of the organization. Create brochures and other communication materials needed for department. Create and manage service area required surveys. Help build and maintain internal SharePoint site and external facing county website. Qualifications and Req irements: Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed High school diploma or equivalent education. Two years of full-time (2,080 annual hours) job-related experience in a fast-paced office/business services or similar environment. In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Strong written and verbal communication skills. Job-related experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, and DocuSign. Job-related experience working within a business office environment and with county and state programs. Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standard office environment. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness. Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds. Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work. Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment. Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle.
