This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Break kit parts down by part and stock number to place in bins within parts room. Ensure that hazardous materials within work areas are hand processed within operating guidelines. Ensure all excess material is properly returned to inventory after production order completion. Operates forklift in accordance to Army regulations. Enter data accurately into the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) as required to maintain accurate inventory. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter without more than normal supervision. Ensuring items are moved promptly and delivered to shops in proper sequence to prevent shortage to repair and assembly lines, rerouting parts to relieve overloaded processing, and operating data terminal equipment for tracking purposes. I can receive and route repair parts and subassemblies into and out of maintenance repair and rebuild shops and expedite movement of priority items and follow up on overdue material. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Duties require walking, stooping, bending, and standing. Incumbent frequently lifts and carries items weighing 10-40 pounds and occasionally handles material weighing 40-75 pounds. (Applicable to Major Duty No. 4). Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting and stopping the fork lift truck and raising, lowering tilting the loads being moved. Strain is caused by the vibration of the fork lift truck. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in production shops that are moderately lighted and ventilated. Incumbent is exposed to outside conditions for short periods of time. Incumbent is exposed to shop noises, dirt, fumes and vibrations, and the possibility of injury associated with handling equipment. There is exposure to cold drafts from open doors, and noise from running engines. Incumbent is exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises. Work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
