MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Manager of Accounts Payable (Fiscal S ervices Administrator II) within the Office of Finance at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing the prompt and accurate processing of authorized and documented vendor invoices received by the Maryland Aviation Administration.

  • T racking credit card payments and ensuring that MAA remains in compliance with the General Accounting Division.

  • Resolving vendor issues, and interdepartmental problems such as obtaining invoice approvals or coding.

  • Reviewing and authorizing financial transaction records for completeness, accuracy and in accordance with Maryland state guidelines.

  • Researching vendor payments to provide payment status and reconciling vendor accounts.

  • Managing and directing the Parking Ticket program to account for parking tickets issued and paid.

  • Directing and administering the Capital Accountant, PFC/CFC Accountant, Accountants, Technicians and Temporary employees in the Accounts payable and Banking Services section.

    This position is located at the BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Qualifications

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, public or business administration, finance, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Six years of experience in professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, fiscal or financial management.

Notes:

  1. Applicants may substitute a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with thirty credit hours in accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing, for the required education.

  2. Applicants may substitute possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for one year of the required experience.

  3. Applicants may substitute possession of a Master's degree in one of the above specified fields or concentrations for one year of the required experience.

  4. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses & Certifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
