Ethos Veterinary Health Veterinary Technician in Annapolis, Maryland

The Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology (AVIMO) in Annapolis, MD is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding team! Sign- on bonus offered for Credentialed Technicians!

Oncology team members work side-by-side with our board certified Veterinary Oncologists treating cancers like osteosarcoma, lymphoma, melanoma, and many more.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional care to patients.

  • Detailed patient history.

  • Phlebotomy.

  • IV catheter placement.

  • Chemotherapy infusions.

  • Record keeping.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to bond with patients and clients.

  • The right candidate will have an eye for detail and follow through and enjoy creating a bond with patients and clients.

  • Exceed chemotherapy safety standards.

  • High level understanding of drug calculations and prescription calculations.

  • Understand the prioritization of clinical information.

  • Strong patient advocacy by using communication and problem solving skills.

  • Safe and low stress patient restraint.

  • Maintaining hospital cleanliness.

  • Run in- house lab work.

  • Assist with appointments and anesthetic procedures.

Our practice regularly utilizes the following specialized procedures including ultrasonography, endoscopy, colonoscopy and rhinoscopy scoping, chemotherapy administration, advanced nursing and hospitalization techniques and much more! AVIM&O also has access to advanced imaging such as MRI and CT.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts)

  • Occasional Weekend On-Call Rotation (typically only once every 2-3 months)

Requirements:

  • Veterinary Technician: 2 year (Required)

  • Phlebotomy: highly skilled (Required)

  • Technology/Computer Competent

  • Detail oriented

  • RVT preferred
