Zurich North America is hiring an Learning Technology Specialist to join our team! This is a hybrid role within the U.S., preferred assigned location is Schaumburg, IL but open to considering alternate locations for a well-qualified candidate.

Participates in complex learning systems workstreams/projects and leads simple, one-two concurrent learning systems workstreams, any size project, overall intermediate complexity with minimal guidance and direction from management.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designs and develops straightforward to moderately complex learning solutions within the insurance, sales, leadership, management, professional development, or technical system and tools training portfolios

  • With minimal direction, uses proven instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and various modalities to design and author solutions that bring impactful and measurable change to the organization

  • Works with key business contacts, Subject Matter Experts, and other Learning & Development team members to validate needs, identify options, scope effort, define objectives, design solution structure, develop materials, and test usability

  • Assists with the coordination and lead of technical activities with business liaisons (BL) to gather requirements; monitors business decisions for technology impact and manages documentation and communication about those impacts

  • Supports BL in development of as-is/to-be models as part of the requirements elicitation process, i.e., process, data, workflow, application etc.

  • Assists BL with the identification and recording of detailed technical requirements from business users through interviews, documentation and facilitated working sessions for approved projects and enhancements

  • Assists BL with the understanding of customers' objectives, processes, products and services in order to make educated recommendations

  • Advises BL on appropriate technical systems and support to meet customers’ needs, including tools that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Assists BL in evaluating project impact through consultation with the business, regulatory, Information Technology management, development, quality assurance, validation and training teams

  • Assists with obtaining feedback and manages technical change process while implementing the technical project plan(s)

  • With minimal direction, uses requirements management tools and techniques

  • With minimal direction, uses application data query tools to perform data analysis, profiling, and validation

  • Assists BL with analysis and management of requirement risk and traceability matrix, and prioritizes requirements

  • With minimal direction, performs quality review checks on project deliverables

  • With minimal direction, supports development of test plan, testing, implementation, and training activities

  • With minimal direction, supports post-implementation activities including problem solving and measurement of benefits achieved

  • Works with BLs, IT, and vendor to analyze and document impact of proposed technology to existing architecture and communicate any potential risks

  • Assists with selection of appropriate processes required to meet the project objectives

  • Assists with establishing and maintaining appropriate communication and engagement with stakeholders and team

  • Complies with requirements to meet stakeholder needs and expectations

  • Assists to balance the competing constraints of business need, services, technology, and quality to produce the specified product, service or result with minimal change requests required

  • Records and reports core metrics and status in a timely manner

  • Provides post-implementation application support and ensures smooth handoff to services organization for ongoing support

Business Accountabilities:

  • Completes, monitors, and reviews project work to ensure appropriate use of systems and resources and adherence to requirements and schedules

  • Drives day-to-day prioritization of project work within small project or subproject, working with project team to meet required project outputs

  • Tracks risks to ensure all major risks to project success are included, and recommends appropriate action within technology sphere

  • Collates and analyzes data using pre-determined tools, methods, and formats and makes recommendations to support business change's decision-making process

  • Evaluates business processes to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Prioritizes business change work, in line with project plans, to deliver customer requirements

  • Provides technical advisory support to internal clients by acting as point person and leading triage, to ensure that there is full alignment and appropriate prioritization

  • Builds relationships with local team members to support delivery of projects

Performance Management Accountabilities:

  • Models behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values

  • Provides input into performance management discussions of project team members

  • Educates team members and business partners on areas of technical expertise

  • Provides guidance and support for team members, including specific and timely feedback

  • Takes action to manage personal development and encourages others to do the same

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Business Analysis areaAND

  • Experience in mainframe and PC environments

  • Experience in insurance operations and regulatory environment

  • Microsoft Office Excel and Word experience

  • Business Systems Integration

  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial insurance experience

  • Strong analytical and planning skills

  • Ability to effectively manage changing prioritiesE

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with Instructional Design.

  • Experience with change management tools/methodologies

  • Experience executing testing scenarios

  • Experience with selecting, configuring, and deploying vendor systems

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary rangefor this position is $63,300.00 - $103,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
