The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking a Staff Cryogenic Solutions Development and Integration Lead to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems that solve an assortment of unique mission needs. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define the system integration and test approach for superconducting device tests within dilution refrigeration measurement systems

  • Design and development for cryogenic measurement systems to support test and integration of superconducting accelerators

  • Develop and define system and component interfaces and requirements

  • Interact with cryogenic measurement system suppliers to ensure that the produced product meets system requirements and performance needs

  • Ensure the systematic conversion of customer or product needs into total systems solutions

  • Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements development and allocation, and interface definition studies translating customer needs into hardware and software requirements and specifications

  • Lead / oversee technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews, integration and test activities as needed

  • Support capture activities, including RFI/RFP preparation, customer presentations and demonstrations, and competitor analysis

  • Provide presentations to customers and senior management, with tailored material based on the audience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), with 10+ years of experience in superconducting materials integration and test.

  • Working knowledge of dilution refrigeration measurement systems

  • Experience facilitating internal, customer, and partner/sub-contractor collaboration to capture and enhance engineering artifacts

  • High proficiency in technical problem solving; to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring Leadership experience with development and/or production program execution.

  • Demonstrated experience with the full product life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test)

  • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.

  • Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.

  • Candidates must be a US Citizen with a US DoD TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical fields

  • Experience leading technical teams.

  • Working knowledge of dilution refrigerator system monitoring and control software

  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).

  • Experience developing test plans and analyzing test data.

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.

Salary Range: $157,500 - $236,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
