Job Description
As the DOD Practice Director for existing and pipeline DOD opportunities, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities within the DOD sector.
This position involves strategic growth planning, pipeline development, client relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive revenue and expand Oracle’s presence in the DOD market. This role involves developing and managing the pipeline of potential opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with DOD agencies, ensuring project delivery, and identifying areas for growth within the Defense sector.
This role emphasizes leadership, business development, and operational oversight for the DOD sector, focusing on pipeline management and long-term growth opportunities. It requires a strong blend of strategic and tactical skills, as well as extensive knowledge of the DOD's business processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the DOD, a deep understanding of government contracting, and expertise in developing and managing a robust opportunity pipeline.

Responsibilities
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: (list out what they are responsible for, below example)
Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and manage the opportunity pipeline within the DOD sector to ensure a steady flow of new business opportunities.
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the DOD practice.
Client Relationships: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the DOD, including contracting officers, program managers, and defense industry leaders.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the DOD sector, including gathering intelligence on potential RFPs, contract vehicles, and partnerships.
Proposal Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals, working closely with proposal teams to ensure timely and compliant responses.
Team Leadership: Lead a cross-functional team of business development professionals, capture managers, and subject matter experts.
Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze trends, emerging technologies, and policy changes within the DOD to identify potential opportunities.
Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all DOD-related activities are compliant with federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and other applicable contracting guidelines.
Financial Oversight: Manage and track budgets for pipeline development and related business activities, ensuring proper resource allocation.
Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and performance indicators to track the success of business development activities, adjusting strategies as needed.
The ideal candidate would possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Experience working with multiple DOD agencies (e.g., Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, etc.)
Knowledge of defense industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovation initiatives
Proven track record of successfully identifying, developing, and securing DOD contracts.
Deep understanding of DOD procurement processes, contract vehicles (e.g., IDIQ, GWACs), and government acquisition strategies.
Strong relationships with DOD agencies, military branches, and key decision-makers.
Experience managing and executing large-scale defense programs.
Existing relationships with key DOD stakeholders and industry partners
Required Credentials and Experience: (put the specific requirements to meet LCAT/program requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree in in engineering, computer science, or related discipline and 14+ years of relevant experience

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $158,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
