Job Title: CAD Drafter

Job Description

Actalent is hiring a CAD Technician for a long-term consultant role to support the design, drafting, and updating of an OEM facilities role. This position will be located at AEP in the facilities department. You will work closely with a small engineering team to develop and maintain the AEP drawing database. Much of the work will require time at a desk, but you are encouraged to ask questions and discover how drawings translate to real life by visiting the site. The environment includes a high-performing, hands-on group of project managers from whom you will learn and whom you will support daily.

Responsibilities include:

• Updating the current drawing system for engineering use.

• Creating overview drawings of the main plant utilities.

• Confirming and correcting small project as-builts throughout the plant.

• Reviewing large building expansions.

• Supporting the development of drawing standards, building specifications, and building standards.

• Developing a drawing database to support document control and efficient accessibility.

• Drafting small as-built changes to existing drawings to keep the database up to date.

• Supporting Facility Engineers in bid document development.

• Assisting mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers in the development and maintenance of the drawing database, including the confirmation, drafting, and tracking of all facilities project drawings.

• Updating the current drawing system for general use.

• Developing and maintaining facilities building specifications and standards.

Required Skills

• AutoCAD Drafting experience 2+ years of experience

• 2+ years of Mechanical Facilities Drafting

• Construction experience

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Anna, Ohio and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid work environment with 1-2 days from home once fully trained.

First shift position from 7:00am-4:00pm.
