Job Summary
Provides support to nursing staff in the delivery of patient and family-centered care. Performs 'guest relation' function that assures the highest standard of care for the patient and family. Facilitates the daily operations of the nursing unit. Ensures an organized and safe environment for patient care. Promotes the personal comfort and convenience of patients and families. Facilitates communication between patients/families and the health care staff to provide a seamless inpatient experience.

Required Qualifications*
High School graduate or equivalent education. Customer service-related experience. Good oral, written, and computer skills. Excellent interpersonal communication. Ability to work independently in an ever-changing and potentially stressful environment. Special Physical Requirement: Walks and stands throughout the day, lifts/pushes equipment and patients.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
