Summary
The Wu laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute (LSI) is looking for a Research Laboratory Specialist Intermediate with a background in molecular biology and nucleic acid therapeutics to work on projects in developing platforms for understanding and improving RNA therapeutics and delivery systems for several disease applications. You will report directly to Dr. Wu and work with members of the laboratory. You will work full-time onsite at the Life Sciences Institute.

Responsibilities*
Experimental tasks will include:
Perform molecular cloning andin vitrotranscription for mRNA therapeutic design and delivery
Test and evaluate nanoparticle formulations for RNA delivery
Design and perform immunoassays for evaluating RNA therapeutic system performance
Performin vivostudies in preclinical mouse models assessing translation efficiencies, biodistribution, and therapeutic efficacies of RNA therapeutic systems
Non-experimental tasks will include:
Write manuscripts and experimental protocols
Help mentor graduate and undergraduate students
Help with shared laboratory responsibilities, including ordering of laboratory supplies
Required Qualifications*
M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
Four years of research experience in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including molecular cloning, nucleic acid and protein characterization, and cell culture
Four years of experience in independent design, execution, and analysis of experiments
Desired Qualifications*
Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
Two years of experience in bioanalytical techniques such as immunoassays and basic bioconjugation chemistries
Two years of experience in nucleic acid therapeutic design and/or nanoparticle delivery systems
One year of experience in flow cytometry
One year of experience in Python or R programming
