Assist in research investigating the use of ultrasound methods (software, hardware) applied to a variety of medical applications, such as Doppler ultrasound to measure volumetric blood flow in peripheral vascular, obstetrical, and cardiovascular applications. Be involved in research planning and protocol development and perform ultrasound experiments and data reduction. Responsibilities include laboratory experiments (e.g., flow phantoms) and laboratory animal research (e.g., large animal models), such as physical and biological measurements; recording data; preparing manuscripts; and some purchasing and inventory control. Responsibilities also include being involved in translational research studies of any developed ultrasound methods. Co-author publications and may present results at meetings and/or conferences. Have oversight for aspects of day-to-day laboratory operations. May supervise students and research and support personnel.
