The LSA Project Senior Manager will work closely withvarious divisions of the Dean's Office (https://lsa.umich.edu/lsa/about/administration.html) and the college on mission critical projects. Primary partners for this position will include LSA Advancement and LSA Budget and Finance.

LSA Advancement supports the excellence and transformative power of the college's liberal arts education through values-based fundraising, marketing, and communications. LSA Finance provides budget and financial oversight and support for all funds across all areas of LSA.

What you'll do

As a project senior manager in the Dean's Office, you will:

  • Partner closely with project sponsors on new projects to ensure goals are met

  • Identify needs and initiate projects to achieve goals

  • Manage project teams, including assigning tasks and responsibilities

  • Identify success criteria, key stakeholders, scope, deliverables, schedule, milestones, and resources for each project

  • Manage project budget where relevant

  • Participate in vendor management, including identification, review, and selection

  • Preemptively identify constraints and risk mitigation

  • Schedule and lead meetings

  • Launch project planning phase involving all stakeholders

  • Produce project plan for project lead approval

  • Manage projects as appropriate and using project management tools

  • Communicate progress to stakeholders regularly

  • Ensure timely delivery of goals

  • Evaluate success of each project with a narrative description and metrics

  • Produce supporting documentation to maintain sustainability of projects and processes

This position will work on a number of large, complex, cross-unit projects with an early focus on finance and fundraising projects including gift fund stewardship and management.

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000. Salary is determined by direct relevant experience while ensuring equity on our team.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Four or more years project management experience

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Demonstrated writing, proofing, and editing experience

  • Experience with project management software/tools

  • Proven ability to navigate the inner workings of a complex organization

  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion through actions, interactions and communications

Work Location:

Our office is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As part of the University of Michigan's Future Work Initiative this position has the option to work on-site or hybrid (both remote and on-site).
