Job Description
Insight global is seeking a Powertrain Design & Evaluation Engineer (PDE) to work onsite for a client in Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities include:
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings and RDDPs.
- Attend routine design reviews and report key metrics of your designs.
- Develop counter-measures to achieve design targets such as cost, mass, durability, strength and warranty based on evolution and quotation results.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts.
- Process improvements, advancing PDR's design process capability to improve EDER and on-time delivery of design deliverables.
Benchmarking similar designs to ensure competitiveness.

Skills and Requirements
2 years of experience in automotive design/development.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with CAD and knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience in design and release of prototype and production component drawings and RDDP.
- Strong knowledge of conventional, hybrid and electrified powertrains.
Ability to travel up to 10% - Hands on experience with driveline/powertrain assemblies.
- Knowledge of transfer cases, propeller shafts, driveshafts and differentials.
- Experience with Catia, FEA, Vehicle NVH and Vehicle Simulations.
Knowledge of DRBFM. null
